Dream Girl 2, the sequel to Raaj Shaandilyaa’s 2019 blockbuster comedy film Dream Girl, is creating excitement among the fans. Dream Girl 2 stars the talented Ayushmann Khurrana once again in the lead, and this time around the cast has been joined by newcomer Ananya Panday.
In this Dream Girl 2 movie, Ayushmann Khurrana not only voices Pooja on the phone but also dresses like her in real life where she fools unsuspecting men. The Dream Girl 2 trailer featured several veteran comedians including Rajpal Yadav, Annu Kapoor, Asrani and Paresh Rawal. In the Dream Girl 2 trailer, we also see glimpses of Ananya Panday, who plays the female lead, romancing Ayushmann’s male avatar.
Ayushmann Khurrana plays Pooja, a call center employee who specializes in female voice mimicry. The first Dream Girl film was a huge success, grossing over ₹200 crore worldwide and enthralled the audience with its unique concept and stellar performances.
Dream Girl 2 Release Date
Originally scheduled to release in July, Dream Girl 2 faced a slight delay due to the extensive VFX work required to perfect Ayushmann’s character as Pooja. Producer Ekta Kapoor stressed on the importance of delivering a high quality product to the audience, thus justifying the delay. Now, the film DG 2 is all set to hit the theaters on 25th August, and fans are looking forward to witness the magic on screen once again.

Apart from Dream Girl 2, Ayushmann Khurrana was recently seen in the film ‘An Action Hero’ where he shared screen space with Jaideep Ahlawat. On Tuesday, the much-awaited trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana’s upcoming film ‘Dream Girl 2’ was finally released. Ayushmann is set to reprise his role as Pooja, but this time the challenges are twice as tough in this sequel. The trailer reveals that Ayushmann’s character’s father is burdened with massive debts due to his extravagant spending. Additionally, the father of the girl, played by Ananya Pandey, who is in love with Ayushmann, sets an unusual condition before their marriage.
According to the film’s plot, Pooja will have to enter into a second marriage based on the foundation of just one marriage. Ananya Pandey’s character’s father demands that Ayushmann secure a good job and have Rs 25 lakh in his account within six months if he wants to marry her. Given Ayushmann’s and his father’s already precarious financial situation, his friends suggest he take up bar dancing as Pooja to make some money.
